This, like the Environmental Lands Program parks is one of our later
discoveries in Polk County. Funnily enough it seems to be also one
of the more popular places to go if you want to get into the more natural
environment. There are quite a few things to do here: archery
ranges, shooting ranges, boat ramps, fishing piers, screened pavilions and
of course, hiking trails.

This is the start of the blue trail, which is the first one you come
to. As you can see, it's pretty narrow and close in.

Once you get out of the close foliage and narrow tracks, you find yourself
on a nice ridge trail that's pretty high up, here's the first vista you
see.

The people who look after the park have cleared an area from the ridge
right down to the water front and put a little shaded bench up top.
The boyz decided to take advantage of it and have a wee rest.

This is the view from where the boys are sitting above.

Once you get to the end of the blue trail, this is what you see from the
ridge, it plains out to some grass lands.
