Saddle Creek is a county park that we should have found ages ago, but
for some reason just kept driving past, on our way to and from Lakeland on
the main highway between there and Winter Haven. It's a fair sized
park with lots of lakes and little banks for fishing off. It also
has some nice trails to walk. We have developed a virtual tour of
the hiking trails, just click here.

This is what it looks like when you are at the very start of the
trail. In the morning we had the most torrential tropical storm and
just look at it now......go figure, that's Florida for ya.

This is a fire tower that you come across not far into the trip.
There is public access to this, but it's a bit wobbly. The doggies
were not too keen to investigate.

The trails here are very well kept and for the most part very shady, so
you don't get too warm and the neck ain't gettin' too damn red.

Here's a pic of an eagle we saw soarin' over us while we walked the trail.
