Polk
County is where we live and it was so nice to find out that the county
officials had a land preservation program. I was just
down at the county headquarters in Bartow on some other business when I found the guidebooks to the environmental reservations bought or
co-purchased by the county. The program has not been in place very
long (1994), but they have done a lot of work so far, and we wish
them well for the future. We have certainly enjoyed finding even
more hidden parts of Central Florida that we didn't know existed.
