This
is a park that Coop and I checked when we first came down to Winter Haven
to live. At that time it was pretty much about all the sports fields
there for baseball, football and soccer. However, just recently we
bumped into someone online who had put a video on U Tube, and that got us
down there again. It seems like the county is yet again
rehabilitating land that used to be open cast phosphate mines and turning
it into an outdoors resource for people to enjoy. This park is just
north of Mulberry, just off Hwy 37. You drive north towards Lakeland
and turn off 37 at the Walmart on West Carter Road and you will see the
park entrance.
It's not finished yet but there is some great potential. This could be as cool a place to go as Saddle Creek Park and that's saying something. Just click on the links below to get a walk thru the park.
