Loch Lomond is part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.  This is quite a big area and covers a lot of the countryside in central Scotland.

This is the first close-up view of Loch Lomond that we got when we arrived at the docks in Balmaha.  The hill that you see in the background is on the Island of Inchcailloch which ended up becoming our main destination.

Here is the view from the end of the docks at Balmaha, just before we boarded the ferry to the island.

You can see from the boat that there are some cliffs along the hillside which really makes for some nice views from up there.  I was so glad that the weather was absolutely perfect for taking photographs.

You can see how big the loch is from here, also, another thing that makes Loch Lomond such a kool place to visit is all the really nice mountains and hills that surround it.

In this pic you can see the ferry that took us across to the island heading back to the docks.  You can also see where we got dropped off.
