This third hurricane that hit Winter Haven was maybe not the strongest one, but it did more damage I think.  It certainly took it's toll on us.  We had to get the roof fixed immediately, had to get a generator and window unit cos the power was out for a week and then subsequently got the generator stolen from our yard.  We were all mentally and physically wiped by the end of the week.  It seemed that the majority of the damage was really due to the fact that Charley and Frances had weakened structures first or had started to flood areas.  The flooding is the longest lasting damage.

This was a series of fields owned by a horse farm near Winter Haven, you can just see the top of some of the fence posts.

This area used to be cow pastures just near where we lived, it's now like a lake.

Here we have the road that we live on Hwy 542, the latest report is that it will be closed until the end of November.

This is one of our neighbors on Lake Elbert who had their big old live oak push onto their house.....yes....their is a house under there....honest.

This was the view from our back door in the middle of the hurricane.  Jeanne was beating the crap out of the neighbors live oaks.
