Alafia
River State Park is probably the biggest of the state parks that are close
to where we live. It has 6,344 acres of very diverse trails, from
very dense forests to miles of open scrub lands which make very good horse
trails. It is about 45 miles from where we live, so it is not one of
the most frequented parks we go to, but it is certainly worth the time it
takes to get there.
It has been developed quite a lot since we first came to Florida, and we definitely recommend it to all outdoors people who use trails, hikers, horse folks, and mountain bikers et al. It also has some nice lakes that are good for fishing. They have mostly Bass and Catfish in them.
